The Georgian Bay Association for Creative
Arts (GBACA) announces “Deck the Walls”, our
Annual Art Show and Sale with creations from
more than 50 talented local painters, glass
artists, wood workers, photographers, textile
artists and sculptors, on display only until
December 31 2010. A visit to this unique art
show in the spacious and light filled new
library will provide you with the chance to
immerse yourself in beautiful art, do some
amazing shopping and support your library all at
the same time as a generous donation will be
made to the library by the artists for work

Cameron's Christmas Surprise

On Saturday December 4th from 9am-12pm
Cameron will turn into a Winter Wonderland. We
want you to come and take part in the magic of
Cameron's Christmas Surprise. Admission to our
event is just $4 per person, this price includes
a pancake breakfast with drink, Santa's Workshop
with a special Christmas stories and crafts,
visit with Santa himself, musical entertainment
and so much more. In the spirit of giving we
would ask that each person bring a non
perishable food donation for the food bank. With
your very generous donation we would like to
offer $1 off the price of your Cameron's
Christmas Surprise experience. You will not want
to miss this magical morning at Cameron Street
Public School. Enjoy the pancake breakfast,
being served to you by some very special local
celebrities. Such celebrities include but are
not limited to, Mayor Chris Carrier, Mayor Elect
Sandra Cooper, Deputy Mayor Elect Rick Lloyd,
Councillor Mike Edwards, The Peak FM's Matt
McLean, Collingwood Fire Fighters, Aaron Garner,
Drew Wright, former Principal of Cameron Street
John Campbell.... You can also take a stroll
through Cameron's Christmas Marketplace and do a
little Christmas Shopping. Each classroom is
collecting items for a theme basket raffle, you
will be able to purchase raffle tickets to win
some great baskets ( perfect with Christmas just
around the corner! ) Our library will be turned
into Santa's Workshop for the morning and will
feature readings for 3 very special Christmas
Stories followed by a Christmas Craft. Santa
will be stopping by from 10am-12pm to join in on
the fun and with Santa. Masterpix will be taking
photo's for those who wish to have the special
moment with Santa captured on film, you can
purchase a 4x6 for just $10 and take it home
with you that day. A magical Christmas Surprise
just would not be complete without a visit from
some real reindeers! Thanks to Pretty River
Valley Country Inn, from 11am-12pm we will have
some real reindeers on hand for the children to
see. As mentioned in the spirit of giving please
don't forget to bring a non perishable food
item. Not only will you receive $1 off of your
Christmas Surprise experience, but at 11:30am
Aaron Garner will be performing his song GIVE.
This is one Christmas Event you are going to

The residents at Raglan Village would like
you to join us at our Christmas Craft Show on
December 4th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Craft
Show will be set up in the Bistro at Raglan
Village at 89 Raglan St, Collingwood. Admission
is free, although donations are excepted and
will be given to the Salvation Army. A snack bar
will be operating thoughout the day. If you are

Desmond Gaspar, a celebrated, accomplished
concert organist who will perform at Trinity
United Church on Saturday December 4 at 2:00
p.m. He will be playing on Trinity’s magnificent
Three Manual Keates Organ. You will not want to
miss it. Mr Gaspar's career as organist,
composer, conductor and pianist has brought him
to various venues in Canada, the United States
and Europe. He is the recipient of numerous
performance and competition awards as a student
and continues an eclectic career in liturgical
music, dance accompaniment, song writing, and
other disciplines. Former winner of the
prestigious Healey Willan Award - a Fellow of
The Royal Canadian College of Organists.

Collingwood once again is pleased to present
Collingwood's Annual Santa Claus Parade.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 5,
beginning at 2 p.m., and plan to join the fun!
The theme
of this year’s parade is “A Fairy Tale
Christmas”. The parade will feature floats
and music highlighting the magic of your
favourite fairy tales, stories and fables.
This year’s theme is the winning entry from Tara
MacAdam and was chosen from more than 40 entries
submitted to the contest held to choose the
theme for the 2010 parade.
Now is the
time to register your float with the committee.
All entries will be judged in three categories -
Non-Profit Organizations / Service Clubs, Youth,
and Industrial & Commercial. Each of the
above categories will receive prizes as follows
- 1st - $100.00, 2nd - $60.00, 3rd - $40.00.
There is no entry fee for community groups and
non-profit organizations. The commercial
entry fee is just $50.00.
Another great way to get involved in the parade
is through your financial support. We want
to make this year’s edition of the Santa Claus
Parade bigger and better than ever. We
encourage every business to consider becoming
involved… it’s a great way to promote your
business as you assist in staging this important
community tradition.
